My Granny Cake, Made With 100 Year Old Recipe

It is soooo good!! I found the recipe in an old folder, while I was cleaning out, sorting, the stooreroom.

I had forgotten about this recipe book. Just a folder with pages of mimeographed pages. The recipes are from my hubby's side of the family.

Anywho, this has crushed pineapple and is a little bit chewy. The topping is boiled evaporated milk, sugar and real butter. Bring those three items to aboil and pour over the semi-hot cake, fresh from the oven.

Oh, my goodness, this cake is now a favorite! Hubby wants me to make it every time we are home!!

Yep, that's a cake recipe I can't mess up!!

Had A Fabulous Thanksgiving!!

Hubby and I are the most blessed and grateful people around. Life is really good.

We didn't think we were going to be home but things worked out, we were. The big problem, there wasn't anything for Thanksgiving in the cupboard! After loading our rig last night, we swung by the local grocery store (they are used to big rigs showing up in the parking lot) and grabbed some items.

Sliced turkey, gravy, cranberry sauce, green beans, sweet 'taters, biscuits and, the coup d'gras, my famous potato salad. Had coffee and Pepsi too.

Anyway, we are incredibly grateful for our lives. Blessed, very blessed, it's awesome.

Anyway, now going to kick back with a little rum and Sierra Mist and enjoy the rest of thevening!

Does This Still Work??

I've been off this blog for so long.  I sort of doubt anyone is still following.

But, I've a home now and am doing some serious cooking, so my interest has been revived in this blog.

I have found I actually have a talent for cooking.  100 year old recipes seem to be my forte.  I found an old cookbook with a lot of nifty recipes and I've been slowly wending my way through.

So, on to posting and seeing if this thing still works.
